All Our Friendsis a genre-bending album that plays on contrast and juxtaposition. A diverse collection of songs that explore a milieu of beauty with an underbelly of addiction, depression and abuse. If not for its lyrical weight, many of the songs soar and float into elation, yet never do the tracks feel ungrounded. There is a balancing act being performed in each song that allows humour, contemplation and joy to shine, without ever overcorrecting into obnoxiousness. It is a love letter that criticises and analyses ones self and ones environment, with musical expanse and determined lyricism.
