MAVIS STAPLES – ONLY FOR THE LONELY

Description:

Limited vinyl LP repressing of this album from the gospel/soul legend. Mavis Staples has worn many hats over the years - that of an uplifting gospel singer, a civil rights activist, soulful front woman for the Staple Singers, a solo artist, and, most recently, the subject of new documentary Mavis!. Released 45 years ago, 1970's Only for the Lonely marked the R&B star's second solo effort. AllMusic. Com proclaims the album to be "one of the best LPs Mavis Staples ever recorded... [Staples'] energy, delivery, timing, and technique were consistently awesome. " Includes 'Since You Became Part Of My Life', 'You're The Fool', 'Since I Fell For You' and more.
